Your new company On behalf of Birmingham City Council, we are recruiting a Trading Standards Investigator to join a highly respected regulatory and enforcement service. Birmingham City Council's Trading Standards team plays a vital role in protecting consumers, supporting legitimate businesses and investigating breaches of legislation across the city. This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional investigative team and contribute to complex and meaningful enforcement work. Your new role This is a full-time, six-month contract offering hybrid working, with a requirement to attend the office at least one day per week and additionally when required by the service. As a Trading Standards Investigator, you will be responsible for carrying out investigations into serious and complex offences, supporting enforcement activity and preparing cases for legal proceedings.The role will involve taking witness statements, interviewing witnesses, conducting suspect interviews under PACE, carrying out investigations and gathering evidence in accordance with legislative requirements. You will undertake searches of premises, manage exhibits and ensure continuity of evidence throughout investigations.
