They work on a range of large-scale infrastructure projects as well as conservation and others.
Your new role
We are looking for an Ecologist to support environmental and ecological works on a major UK infrastructure project.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced field ecologist to work within a dynamic project team, carrying out a range of ecological surveys, site inspections, and environmental compliance activities.
Key responsibilities will include
- Conducting protected species and habitat surveys
- Supporting ecological site monitoring and inspections
- Completing ecological impact assessments and reporting
- Providing ecological advice to site teams and contractors
- Assisting with Environmental Clerk of Works (ECo W) duties where required
- Ensuring works comply with environmental legislation, licence requirements, and best practice guidance
- Liaising with project stakeholders and environmental specialists
- What you'll need to succeed
- Highways Passport/ CSCS
- Your own PPE
- Previous experience working as an Ecologist within consultancy, construction, or infrastructure environments
- Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and ecological survey methodologies
- Experience undertaking protected species surveys and habitat assessments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to the site
