We are seeking a skilled Data Centre Engineer with a strong mechanical and technical background to support the customisation and deployment of server/enterprise equipment within high-performance and data centre environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in data centres, combined with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
This role will be based in our Hatfield Integration Centre, working closely with our Operational and consultancy infrastructure teams.
Role: Technical Operative 2
Location: Hatfield
Contract: ASAP until Sep'26
Pay Rates:
- Umbrella Rate: £19.33/hour (via a Hays approved umbrella company)
- PAYE Basic Rate: £14.90/hour
Hours: 37.5 hours a week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Rack and stack of active network hardware, switches, routers, servers
- Understand and follow the patching schedule/cut sheet
- Installing power and data connection cables within server networking racks
- Follow instructions and provide on-site support to remote network and systems administrators
- Read and follow Rack Elevation Diagrams
