Job Description

Are you a confident and passionate teacher who has an unwavering commitment to ensure all children not only learn a first-class modern foreign languages curriculum, but develop the knowledge and understanding of and appreciation for languages that will inspire an enthusiasm to learn about other cultures?

Penistone Grammar School has a vacancy for a Teacher of Languages who has the enthusiasm and drive to join our successful Modern Foreign Languages department.

Contract: Full-time Temporary to cover Maternity Leave

Salary Range: MPS/UPS (ECTs are welcome to apply)

Start Date: From November 2025 or January 2026 to November 2026

About the role:

You will be a highly effective practitioner who will thrive upon the commitment our students have to their learning, a teacher who has the determination and ability to improve the knowledge, skills and understanding of each and every student you teach; a teacher who shares our vision and can inspire our young people to achieve their personal best.We require a language teacher who is able to teach Spanish and French to KS3.

The MFL department offers French and Spanish at KS3/4/5, the ability to teach French and or Spanish to KS5 would be advantageous. Languages is a popular GCSE with 51% of students studying either Spanish (38%) or French (13%) in Y10 and 54% of students studying either Spanish (43%) or French (11%) in Y11. We also currently run both A' Level French and Spanish.
