Your new company Hays Education are working in partnership with a successful and inclusive secondary school in East London to recruit an enthusiastic and talented Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages, specialising in French with Spanish, for a September 2026 start. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Languages department committed to developing students' confidence in communication, cultural awareness and global understanding. The school is seeking a passionate linguist who can inspire students to develop a love of languages and achieve excellent outcomes.
The successful candidate will teach French across KS3, KS4 and potentially KS5, alongside Spanish across KS3.
Your new role- Teach French across Key Stages 3 and 4 and Spanish across Key Stage 3
- Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that promote language acquisition and cultural understanding
- Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with departmental schemes of work
- Support students in developing their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations
- Monitor progress and provide targeted interventions where necessary
- Contribute to extracurricular activities, language clubs and international opportunities
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching French and Spanish within a UK secondary school setting
- Ability to teach French to KS4 or KS5 and Spanish to at least KS3
- Excellent subject knowledge and passion for language learning
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
