Hays Specialist Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a secure public-sector organisation for an experienced Carpenter Joiner to join a busy maintenance team based in HMP Swansea. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a secure environment, carrying out a varied mix of carpentry, joinery, refurbishment, and maintenance duties across a large operational estate.
Your New Role
As a Carpenter / Locksmith, you will play a key role in maintaining the safety, security, and functionality of the site. You will undertake both planned and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring repairs and installations are completed to a high standard.
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on doors, windows, frames, fixtures, and fittings.
- Install and repair wooden structures, mouldings, and building components.
- Undertake refurbishment and minor project works across the estate.
- Complete painting and decorating tasks as required.
- Respond to work orders and maintenance requests raised through the CAFM system.
- Conduct general building fabric repairs and maintenance.
- Perform planned maintenance and inspections on locks and locking systems.
- Manage lock stores and maintain accurate records and logs.
- Identify, condemn, and replace faulty locks, cylinders, and keys.
