Hays is working with a leading defence-sector FM provider to recruit a skilled and motivated Mobile M&E Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that delivers essential maintenance and technical services across key military sites - playing a crucial role in ensuring safety, compliance, and high-quality service delivery.

The Role

As a Mobile M&E Engineer, you'll provide technical expertise across multiple sites, ensuring all work is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with JSP375 and Safe Systems of Work. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering planned and reactive M&E services across three military locations
  • Producing high-quality Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Assessing the competence of Skilled Persons and providing coaching and supervision
  • Supporting project work and advising on estate safety, compliance and technical issues
  • Liaising with stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce corrective actions and support carbon-reduction goals
  • Participating in an out-of-hours on-call rota
  • Ensuring maintenance and operational standards meet regulatory and contractual requirements

What You'll Bring

We're looking for a highly capable engineer with:

  • Full Mechanical or Electrical qualification
  • AP tickets (Electrical or Mechanical) - desirable, but training provided for the right candidate.
  • Strong knowledge of Safe Systems of Work and JSP375
  • Experience working independently across multiple sites
  • Confidence in problem-solving and decision-making
  • Experience supervising staff or contractors
  • Full UK driving licence
