Your new company: You'll be working with a well-established Tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering highways and infrastructure schemes across the UK. Known for their strong pipeline of work, collaborative site teams and consistent use of contractors, the business offers long-term stability and the opportunity to move between projects as schemes complete.
Your new role: As a Site Engineer, you'll play a key role in the delivery of a live Section 278 highways scheme, supporting the site team with setting out and day-to-day engineering duties on a major residential development.
- Setting out for highways and civil works, including earthworks, drainage, ducting, kerbing and formation
- Setting out and coordination of utilities, signage and street lighting locations
- Carrying out surveying, quality checks and producing as-built information
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
- Working closely with the Site Agent and subcontractors to ensure accurate delivery
- Providing practical, build-focused engineering support on-site
- Supporting programme delivery and resolving technical issues as they arise
What you'll need to succeed: Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways or civil engineering projects, solid setting out capability with a good understanding of build methodology, CSCS card, ability to interpret drawings and work practically on site, CAD experience is advantageous (own laptop/software beneficial but not essential), a proactive, reliable approach and the confidence to work within a site delivery team.
