Hays are now looking for a SQL Developer for one of our local clients: £430 p/d Inside IR35 2 days a week onsite, the rest is WFH Location is Cheshire 12 Month Contract Overview We are seeking a SQL Server Developer/Engineer to support SQL Engineering initiatives, delivering high-quality, scalable solutions aligned to cyber and infrastructure programmes. This role focuses on enhancing design, development, and integration across enterprise services. What you'll be doing Developing and engineering SQL-based solutions to support key technology initiatives Enhancing solution design and delivery, ensuring seamless integration with internal platforms Adhering to best practices for change control, database security, and governance Producing and maintaining clear documentation across all solution components Collaborating proactively across infrastructure teams and promoting best practices Communicating complex technical concepts clearly to a wide range of stakeholders What we're looking for Strong expertise in C#, PowerShell scripting, WebAPI, and JSON/API integration Solid experience in backend development with MSSQL (MongoDB desirable) Hands-on experience with Kafka, Ansible (AAP 2.4/2.5), and DevOps tooling (Git, Jenkins, Confluence) Exposure to AI-assisted development (e.g. GitLab Duo, Claude) Good understanding of SDLC, DevOps practices, and Agile methodologies Working knowledge of data structures, algorithms, coding best practices, and automation If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or please send a copy of your CV to Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
