A leading infrastructure organisation requires an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of ground investigation, site survey and pre-construction activities across a portfolio of major projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile programme, working closely with specialist contractors, land teams and project stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.
As Site Engineer, you will coordinate site-based investigations and survey activities, ensuring all works are carried out safely, compliantly and to the required quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and maintaining Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Supporting health, safety, environmental and quality reporting requirements.
- Delivering site inductions, briefings and safe systems of work.
- Coordinating access arrangements and liaising with landowners and stakeholders.
- Managing site access requirements alongside land and project teams.
- Developing and maintaining short-term programmes for surveys and site activities.
- Coordinating plant, equipment and site resources.
- Monitoring programme performance and site progress against budget and timescales.
- Managing specialist ground investigation and survey contractors on site.
- Maintaining accurate daily records, photographs and site documentation.
- Acting as a key point of contact for local stakeholders and interested parties.
- Supporting contractor selection, evaluation and mobilisation activities.
- Taking responsibility for site welfare, first aid arrangements, emergency response and security.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer, Section Engineer or Site Supervisor within infrastructure, utilities, civil engineering or environmental projects.
- Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental management.
- Experience managing subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and site activities.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- CSCS Card.
- SMSTS or SSSTS desirable.
- First Aid qualification desirable.
- Full UK driving licence.
