Your new company is a specialist ground works and civil engineering contractor that operates as a main contractor across Sussex and Surrey to refurbish, upgrade and re-instate elements of public highways, water utility assets, local authorities, and private customers. They also deliver civil engineering services, plant, and labour as a subcontractor to large Tier One Contractors in line with the project schemes and the Frameworks in place. Their schemes vary in size from remedial works of local assets valuing circa £250k up to large infrastructure projects with packages of £1million. Your new role would be to read and interpret drawings, use instruments and site engineering principles to set out the line, level, and dimensions of the structures from the datum points prior to excavation and construction of the foundations. You will be required to work on several small jobs where your engineering input is required or be based on a larger job for a consistent period based on the demands set by the customer and the scope of work. The location of the jobs is spread across Sussex and Surrey, and they serve the highways, water utility and regional building markets for private clients. You will need to attend the site for daily briefings, regular reporting, advise on risk assessments, method statements and support the number one on site.
