Your new company Hays Senior Finance is partnering with a large, complex and highly respected organisation to recruit a technically strong CAPEX Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is a high-profile role offering excellent visibility across both finance and operational teams.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring robust accounting, governance and reporting across a diverse portfolio of capital projects, whilst gaining exposure to strategic decision-making and business-critical investments.
The position would suit a qualified accountant who enjoys combining technical excellence with business partnering and is looking for a role that offers genuine variety, challenge and stakeholder exposure.
Your new role Key responsibilities include: Owning capital expenditure accounting and reporting activities.
Ensuring expenditure is appropriately capitalised in line with IFRS and internal accounting policies.
Reviewing project costs and determining the correct accounting treatment of capital and operational expenditure.
Preparing month-end CAPEX reporting, fixed asset accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.
Supporting budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning activities.
Partnering closely with project managers and operational stakeholders to provide financial insight and challenge.
Supporting governance, investment approval and control processes.
Preparing analysis for both internal and external audit requirements.
Identifying opportunities to strengthen controls and improve reporting processes.
Supporting wider finance initiatives and strategic projects.
What you'll need to succeed You will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with strong technical accounting knowledge and experience in fixed asset, project or capital expenditure accounting.
You'll also be able to demonstrate: Excellent analytical and Excel skills.
Strong attention to detail and interpretation of accounting standards.
The ability to build credibility with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Strong communication and influencing skills.
A proactive, commercial and solutions-focused mindset.
Experience gained within a large corporate, engineering, manufacturing, construction, infrastructure or other asset-intensive environment would be advantageous.
