SEND Assistant - Blackburn

Your new company Hays Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant to join our team, supporting students in a high school in Blackburn. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate individual to make a significant impact on the lives of children with SEND in mainstream educational settings. Your new role Provide tailored support to students with SEND, ensuring their individual needs are met. Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver targeted interventions. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. Support students with a range of SEND needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Dyslexia, and Speech and Language difficulties. Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents. Promote social and emotional development through positive behaviour management strategies. What you\’ll need to succeed Minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent. Previous experience working as a SEND TA in a primary school setting.
