Hays Education are looking for compassionate, reliable and adaptable Supply Teaching Assistants to work within Complex SEN Schools in the Stockport area. These schools cater for pupils with a range of needs including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and associated medical or behavioural challenges.
Location: Stockport
Contract: Flexible Supply / Temporary
Rate: Up to £125/day
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with complex SEN needs in classroom and 1:1 settings.
- Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning plans and interventions.
- Provide support with communication, sensory needs, and personal care where required.
- Promote independence and engagement through structured routines and positive reinforcement.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals.
- Ensure safeguarding and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Experience working with children with complex SEN needs (school or care setting preferred).
- Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with Autism, SLD, or PMLD.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to challenging situations.
