Special Needs School Receptionist/Administrator Based in Handsworth, Birmingham£14.56ph TO START IN SEPTEMBER 2026Your new school A Special Needs School for complex disabilities in North Central Birmingham is looking for a long-term School Receptionist to start in September 2026.

This School Receptionist job is 8am - 4pm, Monday to Friday term time only.

The school is rapidly expanding and looking to grow their current admin team.

Your new job The school reception is a very busy and fast paced environment.

You will be responsible for meeting and greeting parents, visitors and pupils as well as answering and transferring calls and taking messages and ensuring safeguarding procedures are adhered too.

This is a very busy reception where you will be required to have a pro-active and flexible approach.

The school has a high number of visitors and appropriate safeguarding checks must be carried out when signing in visitors.

What you'll need to succeed For this school receptionist job, you will need to have excellent communication skills and telephone manner with the ability to work in a pressured environment as well as an understanding of the importance of 'Child Protection and Safeguarding' issues when working on a school reception.

You will also have recent experience working as a school receptionist with satisfactory references.

Any person working in a school must hold an enhanced DBS check.
