Job Purpose: To support the Finance Manager in maintaining the school's financial and accounting services, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks and Trust policies.
Reporting to: Finance Manager
Liaises with: School staff, Trust staff, pupils, parents, and external agencies
Main Duties:
- Process requisitions, orders, receipts, and invoices using the purchase ordering system (Compleat) and purchase ledger (PSF).
- Assist with weekly BACS runs and Bankline payments.
- Raise invoices, enter payments, and reconcile the sales ledger.
- Prepare incoming cash and cheques for banking, enter into the accounting system, and reconcile.
- Process and reconcile petty cash expenditure claims.
- Manage expenditure claims for credit cards and PayPal accounts.
- Support and monitor the ParentPay system, ensuring reconciled income.
- Assist with month-end routines and filing.

Knowledge Base:
- Knowledge of financial management processes, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, nominal ledger, and bank reconciliations.
Requirements:
- 5 GCSEs or higher, including English and Mathematics at Grade C or above.
- Accountancy/financial qualification or working towards such a qualification (e.g., Association of Accounting Technicians or equivalent).
- Experience in a finance or accountancy environment.
- Proven experience with finance systems and spreadsheet packages in a commercial/educational background.
- Understanding and application of MS Office, Word, and Excel.
