Job Overview:

  • Location: Manchester/ Reading/ Paddington
  • Contract: 6 months
  • Pay Rates: Umbrella Rate: £590/day, PAYE Basic Rate: £463/day
  • Work Mode: 2 days on-site (Hybrid)

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Governance & Compliance or Assurance role within a regulated environment (telecoms, utilities, financial services, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of telecoms regulatory obligations and operational risk landscapes (TSA, Ofcom, Sox, ISO27001 etc).
  • Degree, certification, or demonstrable experience in risk management, information security, auditing, or a comparable discipline.
  • Ability to communicate complex risk and compliance issues clearly to non-technical senior stakeholders.

Key Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a Governance & Compliance or Assurance role within a regulated environment (telecoms, utilities, financial services, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of telecoms regulatory obligations and operational risk landscapes (TSA, Ofcom, Sox, ISO27001 etc).
  • Degree, certification, or demonstrable experience in risk management, information security, auditing, or a comparable discipline.
  • Ability to communicate complex risk and compliance issues clearly to non-technical senior stakeholders.

Key Skills Required:

The Governance and Compliance analyst is responsible for leading and embedding effective governance, risk, and compliance practices. The role provides support for governance and assurance in areas such as vulnerability management, In-life functions, end-of-life (EOL), end-of-support (EOS), asset management, risk management, process governance, and change management. In turn, the role supports a strategic, horizon-scanning view of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC).

  • Support compliance activities related to telecoms regulation (e.g. Ofcom, Telecoms Security Act, network and service obligations, data protection, security and resilience requirements).
  • Translate strategic governance objectives into practical, measurable Governance & Compliance activities.
  • Provide insight to inform strategic initiatives, transformation programmes, and GRC change activity.
  • Establish and oversee controls for end-of-life and end-of-support technologies, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated through a separate CTO Risk channel that sits within the same area of the business.
  • Support the continuous improvement and maturity of GRC requirements covering the full technology lifecycle, from project management, onboarding to decommissioning.
  • Partner with technology & risk teams to ensure lifecycle decisions align with organisational risk appetite and strategic objectives.
  • This role ensures technology assets, platforms, and services are managed in a compliant, controlled, and forward-looking manner.
  • Reporting into the Strategic Governance function, this role acts as the bridge between corporate governance strategy and day-to-day GRC execution, enabling informed decision-making, regulatory assurance, and sustainable business growth within a highly regulated telecoms environment.
  • Ensure effective technology asset management practices are in place, including hardware, software, and cloud services.
  • Support the accuracy, consistency, and governance of asset registers and configuration data that is used across the business to support multiple processes.
  • Support the Strategic Governance function with governance reporting, assurance mapping, and maturity assessments.
  • Influence without direct authority, embedding accountability for risk and compliance into the first line of defence.
  • Build relationships across Technology, Networks, Security, Data, Legal, Procurement, and Operations.
