Linux Systems Engineer Contract (DV) - Paying between £800 to £950 Per Day, Inside IR35, Based near Reading, Hybrid Working, 6 Month Contract, To Start ASAP

Your new role
/n
An experienced Linux Systems Engineer is required to join a DevOps-focused team supporting a large scale data platform that delivers advanced cybersecurity and data analytics capabilities.
/n
You'll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing Linux infrastructure, driving automation initiatives, supporting VMware environments, and troubleshooting complex issues across enterprise systems.
/n
Key Responsibilities:
/n
/n
- Administer and optimise Linux server environments (RHEL, Rocky Linux or similar)
/n
- Manage VMware vSphere/ESXi infrastructure
/n
- Develop and maintain automation using Ansible
/n
- Troubleshoot OS, networking, storage and performance issues
/n
- Support Windows Server integrations where required
/n
- Deliver patching, security hardening and compliance activities
/n
- Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
/n
- Provide technical guidance to other engineers
/n
/n
What you'll need to succeed
/n
/n
/n
- Strong Linux administration experience
/n
- VMware vSphere/ESXi
/n
- Ansible or similar automation tools
/n
- Bash scripting
/n
- Networking, storage and permissions knowledge
/n
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
/n
/n
Desirable Skills:
/n
/n
- Windows Server
/n
- Git and CI/CD pipelines
/n
- Docker or Podman
/n
- Prometheus, Grafana or CheckMK
/n
- Red Hat Satellite or Foreman
/n
- Experience within cybersecurity, data platform or DevOps environments
/n
