Job Description
Your new companyHays are partnered with a well-established civil engineering contractor, operating nationally, who are seeking a freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to support delivery of a long-term highways framework in the North West. As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:
- Manage commercial delivery of asphalt surfacing schemes under NEC4 contracts.
- Oversee subcontractor procurement, payments, and change control.
- Lead cost forecasting, valuations, and reporting across multiple workstreams.
- Handle compensation events and ensure NEC4 compliance.
- Collaborate with delivery teams and maintain strong client relationships.
- Monitor risks, performance, and framework KPIs.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Strong working knowledge of NEC4 contracts is essential
- Previous UK-based experience is essential. You will not be considered without
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in highways or civil engineering.
- Experience working on frameworks for local authorities or public sector clients.
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
