The Probate team sits within a large and thriving Private Client department and is known for its technical excellence, collaborative culture and commitment to delivering a first-class service. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Probate Solicitor to join a specialist and enthusiastic team handling a varied, high-quality caseload. Working closely with colleagues across the probate, private client and contentious trusts and probate teams, you will be responsible for:

  • Administering large and complex taxable testate and intestate estates
  • Applying business property and agricultural property reliefs
  • Calculating inheritance tax involving exempt and non-exempt beneficiaries
  • Managing estate administrations on behalf of national charities
  • Preparing wills and LPAs, including matters involving elderly clients or capacity concerns, with occasional urgent home or hospital visits
  • Supervising and supporting junior solicitors and paralegals

You will play a key role in maintaining the team’s high standards while contributing to its continued growth. Significant training and support will be provided to help you further develop your expertise.

You will be a qualified Solicitor with extensive experience in probate law and STEP membership or ATT/CTA qualification (or working towards STEP). You will display strong technical expertise, particularly around inheritance tax, business property relief and agricultural property relief. You will show excellent attention to detail and consistently high quality output, and proficiency with legal research tools, case management systems and MS applications.

You will join a friendly, knowledgeable and well-structured team handling complex and rewarding work.
