Woodfield School Primary Teaching Assistant (SEND/SEMH)Full Time, Permanent, Term time only£25,000 (actual salary)Start: As Soon As Possible Woodfield School, part of Henry David Learning Trust, is an innovative and exciting independent special school, supporting children and young people with Autism and associated speech language, social communication and behavioural difficulties, aged 7 to 19.We are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our community and take on the role of Teaching Assistant on a full time, permanent basis and work with our primary aged children (8-11). Due to the nature of our provision these pupils are working at EYFS/KS1 level - it would therefore be highly advantageous if you have existing knowledge, experience and/or awareness around the Eary Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. For example, phonics, number bonds, classroom layout and learning through play. Prior experience working within SEND, SEMH or speech and language is desirable.The appointed candidate will predominantly work with our younger children with key responsibilities to include creating a learning culture experience for pupils who find it a challenge to engage with a full programme of onsite learning, and to work with pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis to reengage them with onsite learning.
