Your new role
Hays Education are looking for a school business support officer with finance experience to join our friendly and professional school team based in Preston. You will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the setting's financial records, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations and standards.
This is a school business support job with a part-time job (five mornings a week), term time only, on an ongoing temporary basis starting ASAP for a few weeks initially, this may extend into September. School experience is essential for this role and previous experience of the school finance systems and a DBS on the update service would be preferred.
Duties may include:
- Answering telephone calls and managing messages with courtesy and discretion.
- Supporting visitors to the school as a point of contact within the main office when required.
- Supporting day-to-day financial operations, including invoicing, banking and ensuring compliance.
- Auditing accounts and ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
- Supporting the senior business leaders with budget planning and monitoring.
- Managing correspondence, including drafting and distributing letters and emails.
- Adhering to school policies relating to health and safety, confidentiality, safeguarding, and data protection.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in a school finance environment is essential for this role.
- Knowledge of SIMS or Arbor and other school systems.
- A friendly, professional, and helpful attitude.
