Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in Preston to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time teaching position initially offered on a temporary basis with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The Role
As a DT Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to teach Key Stage 5 being advantageous. You will inspire students to develop their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and technical skills, helping them to achieve excellent outcomes in a supportive learning environment. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and well-resourced department committed to delivering a broad and innovative curriculum that prepares students for future study and employment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Design & Technology within a UK secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge across one or more DT specialisms
- Excellent classroom management skills
- The ability to motivate and inspire learners of all abilities
- A passion for practical and creative learning
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
