A well-established social housing provider is seeking a Reactive Maintenance Plumber to join its team on a temporary basis. This role is being advertised on a confidential basis due to operational requirements.
The Role
- You will carry out responsive and planned plumbing maintenance across occupied social housing properties, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- The role will suit a competent plumber with strong reactive maintenance experience and some water hygiene/legionella awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering reactive plumbing repairs in occupied social housing properties.
- Working on hot and cold-water systems, pipework, fittings, and associated components.
- Carrying out installations, repairs, and replacements including:
- Taps, toilets, baths, and showers
- Valves, outlets, and pipework
- Minor plumbing renewals
- Supporting water hygiene and legionella control activities, including flushing, inspections, basic monitoring, and remedial tasks (training can be provided where required).
- Completing minor building works associated with plumbing repairs.
- Accurately recording work via handheld devices and job management systems.
- Delivering a professional, customer-focused service to tenants at all times.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in reactive maintenance within social housing or domestic settings
- Full UK driving licence (clean preferred)
- Basic DBS clearance - must be in place by start date
- Ability to work independently and manage a mobile workload
- Strong knowledge of health & safety and safe working practices
Desirable
- Experience or awareness of water hygiene / legionella processes
- Familiarity with HSG274 / ACOP L8 guidance
- Previous experience working in occupied properties
