Your new company A leading manufacturing organisation in Bradford is seeking an experienced Planning Supervisor to join its supply chain and logistics function.
Operating within a fast-paced production environment, the business is focused on delivering outstanding customer service through effective demand planning, production planning and inventory management.
This is an opportunity to play a key leadership role within a manufacturing operation, working across planning, production, purchasing and logistics teams to balance customer demand with operational capacity.
You will lead and develop a multi-functional planning team while driving improvements in forecasting accuracy, delivery performance and planning processes.
Your new role As Planning Supervisor, you will be responsible for optimising plant planning and production steering processes to ensure customer demand is fulfilled on time.
You will generate and maintain a reliable 12-month demand outlook, enabling effective production planning and material requirements planning across the operation.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will oversee demand planning, capacity evaluation and bottleneck management activities.
You will facilitate regular planning reviews, create recovery plans where required and support supplier demand and capacity assessments.
A key aspect of the role will be balancing production capacity with customer requirements while maintaining effective inventory control and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
You will lead, coach and develop both product line planning and materials planning teams, creating a collaborative culture where information is shared openly and planning challenges are addressed collectively.
The role also involves driving process standardisation, monitoring key performance indicators, managing departmental budgets and championing data accuracy across planning systems.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this Planning Supervisor position, you will have a minimum of five years' experience in forecast planning and production planning within a manufacturing environment, including direct customer interaction.
You will also have at least two years' experience leading or supervising multi-functional teams.
You will possess strong knowledge of demand planning, capacity planning, bottleneck management, inventory control and production planning processes.
Experience working with OEM or OES customer portals and a strong understanding of SAP MM, SD and PP modules are essential.
Knowledge of SAP WM would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be a confident communicator with the ability to lead meetings, influence stakeholders and manage conflicting priorities.
You will be highly organised, commercially aware and capable of driving improvements across planning operations.
Experience within automotive manufacturing is preferred, while expertise in data analytics, coding or Power BI would be particularly beneficial.
