Your new role
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will oversee the safe and efficient delivery of highway maintenance and civil engineering schemes on live public highways. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising day-to-day site activities to ensure work is delivered safely, on time and to specification
- Managing and coordinating subcontractors, operatives and suppliers on site
- Ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures
- Carrying out site inductions, pre-start checks and toolbox talks
- Implementing and monitoring risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work
- Issuing permits for activities such as excavations and hot works
- Monitoring progress against programme and reporting any delays or risks
- Maintaining accurate site records including labour, materials and plant
- Inspecting work to ensure quality standards are met in line with project specifications
- Supporting the preparation of handover documentation and completion reports
