The Role

Hays is recruiting for an experienced Civil Working Supervisor / Foreman to support a major National Grid substation project. You will oversee civil activities on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with National Grid standards. This position is ideal for a proven supervisor with strong civil engineering knowledge and a background in utilities, power, or infrastructure projects.

Essential Qualifications & Tickets

  • NG Person
  • SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme)
  • HSG47 - Avoiding Danger from Underground Services (2-day)
  • Slinger / Signaller
  • Relevant Plant Operation Tickets (e.g., 360, dumper, roller - depending on experience)

Desirable Experience

  • Earthworks supervision
  • Drainage installation
  • Troughing and ducting work
  • Strong background in civils on substations or similar environments

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision of site civil teams and subcontractors
  • Ensuring safe systems of work are followed at all times
  • Coordinating plant, labour, and materials
