Multi-Track Personal Injury Solicitor/CILEX

Job Description /n Your new company /n A well-established and highly regarded claimant law firm is looking to recruit an experienced Personal Injury Solicitor, CILEx Lawyer or experienced fee earner to join its specialist personal injury team. /n The role offers the opportunity to handle a high-quality caseload of Intermediate and Multi-Track motor claims, with a particular focus on more complex pain-related injuries. You will have significant autonomy over your caseload and play an important role in developing more junior members of the team. /n /n Your new role /n You will independently manage a specialist caseload of complex claimant personal injury matters, taking responsibility for cases from instruction through to settlement or trial. /n Your caseload will predominantly comprise Intermediate and Multi-Track motor claims, requiring you to identify key liability, causation and quantum issues at an early stage and develop an appropriate litigation strategy. /n Your responsibilities will include: /n /n - Managing a caseload of complex litigated claimant personal injury matters. /n - Handling Intermediate and Multi-Track motor claims, including cases involving complex and ongoing pain-related injuries. /n - Investigating and evidencing all appropriate heads of loss to maximise damages. /n - Obtaining and analysing medical evidence and instructing appropriate medical experts. /n - Assessing liability, causation, quantum and prospects throughout the lifecycle of a claim. /n - Progressing cases in accordance with the Civil Procedure Rules, Serious Injury Guide and Rehabilitation Code, where appropriate. /n - Drafting legal documents and ensuring compliance with Court directions and procedural deadlines. /n - Instructing Counsel and attending conferences, hearings and other Court appointments where required. /n - Advising clients on liability and quantum offers, litigation risks, costs and fundamental dishonesty. /n - Liaising and negotiating with defendant solicitors, insurers, experts and Counsel. /n - Identifying vulnerable clients and adapting your approach appropriately when dealing with sensitive or complex circumstances. /n - Providing guidance, file support and technical assistance to more junior colleagues. /n - Working towards appropriate fee, settlement, progression and client satisfaction targets. /n /n What you'll need to succeed /n You will ideally be a qualified Solicitor or CILEx Lawyer, although experienced personal injury fee earners capable of independently managing complex litigated claims will also be considered. /n You should have: /n /n - Strong experience independently managing claimant personal injury claims. /n - Experience handling litigated Intermediate and/or Multi-Track matters. /n - Previous experience of RTA and motor claims, ideally involving higher-value or complex injuries. /n - A strong understanding of the CPR and personal injury litigation procedure. /n - Knowledge of the Intermediate Track and the Fixed Recoverable Costs regime. /n - The ability to analyse complex medical evidence and identify issues around liability, causation and quantum. /n - Experience liaising with medical experts, Counsel and other professional stakeholders. /n - Strong drafting, negotiation and client-care skills. /n - The ability to identify case strategy and proactively progress matters with minimal supervision. /n - A compassionate approach when supporting clients dealing with serious or ongoing injuries. /n - An interest in mentoring and supporting the development of junior colleagues. /n /n /n Previous experience specifically handling pain-related injury claims would be advantageous, although candidates with broader complex or higher-value claimant PI experience who are interested in developing within this area will also be considered. /n /n What you'll get in return /n You will join a specialist claimant PI team handling complex and technically interesting work, with the opportunity to develop your experience across Intermediate and Multi-Track litigation. /n The position offers a good level of autonomy and responsibility, alongside opportunities to develop technically, work on increasingly complex claims and contribute to the development of junior colleagues. /n /n What you need to do now /n /n If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career. /n Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
