Job Description
Multi-Skilled Plasterer – Social Housing Repairs and Maintenance (2 vacancies)
Locations:
- Kensington & Chelsea and surrounding areas (1st vacancy)
- Hackney/Islington/Camden and (rarely) some work in west Essex (2nd vacancy)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (39 hours per week)
Salary: £42,838 per annum
Call-Out: £525 per week (rota-based)
We are working in partnership with a well-established organisation to source a skilled and motivated Multi-Skilled Plasterer for a permanent role in London. This position plays a vital part in the delivery of complex repair services, including works related to damp and mould, plastering, and general multi-trade maintenance.
About the Role
This is a customer-facing, field-based role requiring a strong commitment to quality repairs and responsive service. The postholder will be expected to work independently across occupied and void properties, conducting a variety of tasks to ensure homes are safe, warm and in good order. Works will include damp treatment, mould washes, plastering, basic plumbing, tiling, and flooring installations. Applicants must reside within a reasonable distance of Kensington or Chelsea or Hackney/Islington respectively, to ensure timely access to appointments. A company vehicle and fuel card are provided for business use. The role also includes participation in an out-of-hours rota, paid at a generous weekly rate.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out primary plastering repairs and associated multi-trade tasks
- Conduct damp and mould treatments in accordance with Health & Safety protocols
- Deliver maintenance works with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong organisational skills
- Accurately record job progress and outcomes using agreed systems
- Ensure work is conducted safely, professionally and with consideration of the customer's environment
- Maintain high standards of customer service and represent the organisation positively in tenants' homes
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in plastering or relevant trade, supported by substantial hands-on experience
- Demonstrable competence across a range of trades, including tiling, plumbing, flooring, and damp treatments
- Experience working in a maintenance environment, ideally within social housing
- Ability to meet service targets, follow procedures and work methodically under pressure
- A full UK driving licence
- Willingness to undertake a Basic DBS check (paid for by the client)
- Physically capable of undertaking manual tasks, including safe use of specialist materials and equipment
