An exciting opportunity to join a building services consultancy based in the heart of Manchester. This consultancy specialises in:
- Mechanical design
- Electrical design
- Sustainable design

Your new role
- Deliver mechanical building services design across projects from concept through to construction and handover
- Prepare calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings for HVAC, domestic water, drainage, and associated systems
- Undertake mechanical design using industry software (e.g. IES, Hevacomp, AutoCAD/Revit)
- Coordinate designs with electrical, public health, structural and architectural teams
- Attend design team meetings, client workshops, and site meetings as required
- Respond to technical queries during construction and assist with site inspections
- Ensure designs comply with current regulations, standards, and best practice (e.g. Building Regulations, CIBSE, British Standards)
- Continue professional development and actively work towards Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent)
What you'll need to succeed
- A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- 3-5 years' experience within a building services consultancy or contractor design environment
- A solid understanding of mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling, domestic water and drainage
- Working knowledge of UK Building Regulations, British Standards and CIBSE guidance
- Experience producing calculations, specifications, reports and coordinated design information
- Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Essential: Experience working on UK projects and UK building codes for a minimum of 3 years.
