Your new company A highly regarded and award-winning legal services organisation is continuing its strategic growth and is now seeking to appoint an experienced Barrister or Solicitor Advocate to join its established advocacy function. Operating through an in-house chambers model, the team combines the structure and expertise of traditional chambers with the scale, resources and consistency of a leading national law firm. Your new role You will undertake a broad civil advocacy practice, working across a varied caseload generated internally. The role closely mirrors that of a traditional civil barrister, combining court advocacy with advisory and drafting work. Core areas will include: personal injury, clinical negligence and costs litigation. There will also be the opportunity to get involved in advocacy surrounding civil liberties, housing disrepair and consumer claims litigation. Work allocation is carefully managed to ensure a sustainable workload, with appropriate preparation time built into your diary. This Barrister/Solicitor Advocate role will see you: Conduct court advocacy across a range of hearings Attend conferences and advise clients Draft pleadings, advices, and other legal documentation Manage your own caseload with support from an experienced clerking function Contribute to the training and development of junior advocates Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CPR, case law, and legislative developments What you'll need to succeed Essential : Qualified Barrister or Solicitor Advocate with Civil Higher Rights of Audience Typically 5 years' relevant post-qualification experience (applications considered on merit) Strong advocacy and drafting skills Excellent attention to detail Strong communication skills (written and oral) Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively Resilience and strong organisational skills Desirable : Experience in personal injury litigation Working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules Experience supervising pupils or willingness to undertake training Strong IT literacy What you'll get in return Competitive salary from Β£85,000 (dependent on experience) Flexible and hybrid working model Nationwide role with managed regional travel only All reasonable travel and subsistence expenses covered Practising certificate renewal costs covered No requirement for separate professional indemnity insurance Full IT equipment and administrative support Structured mentoring from experienced practitioners Access to high-quality legal resources and training What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV.
