Job Description
Your new companyThis well-established construction and engineering business in North Lanarkshire is known for delivering high-quality projects across the UK. With a strong reputation for innovation and operational excellence, they offer a collaborative and fast-paced environment where finance plays a key role in strategic decision-making.Your new roleAs Management Accountant, you'll be a vital part of the finance team, supporting the Financial Controller and senior leadership with accurate reporting, budgeting, and analysis. You'll take ownership of monthly management accounts and contribute to financial planning across multiple projects. The role requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Budgeting and forecasting for operational and project teams
- Maintenance of general ledger and fixed asset register
- Balance sheet and bank reconciliations
- VAT returns and weekly supplier payment runs
- Product profitability and cost variance analysis
- Support year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
- Assist in stock valuation and review
- Ad hoc financial reporting and stakeholder engagement
What you'll need to succeed
- Part or fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a finance role, ideally within construction or engineering
- Proficiency in software packages including SAP and strong Excel skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently
