We are seeking a proactive and reliable Estates Facilities Operative (Electrical Bias) to join our site team and support the smooth running of our school campus. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled electrical professional who also enjoys a hands-on, varied facilities role within a supportive school environment.
The Role
This is a dual-skilled position combining electrical maintenance responsibilities with general caretaking duties, ensuring the school remains safe, compliant, and well-presented at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Duties
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) across site
- Conduct compliance checks including: Emergency lighting, Fire alarm systems
- Perform reactive repairs to building systems and electrical appliances
- Support contractor management for larger outsourced installations
- Assist with PAT testing and electrical safety tasks
- General Estates Caretaking Duties
- Moving furniture and setting up rooms/events
- Basic painting and decorating
- Grounds maintenance (e.g. grass cutting, litter picking)
- Cleaning and general upkeep of the site
- Minor building fabric repairs
- Unblocking drains/toilets
- Locking/unlocking buildings
