Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Managing your own caseload of probate and estate administration matters from initial instruction through to final distribution.
- Advising clients on probate, inheritance tax and other private-client issues.
- Drafting and reviewing legal documentation such as estate accounts, IHT forms and applications for grants.
- Maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
- Supporting junior team members and offering guidance where needed.
- Working with colleagues in product, technology and customer-facing teams to refine and improve service delivery.
- Contributing to operational and process-improvement projects, including those involving Legal-tech and AI solutions.
- Handling sensitive conversations with clients in a clear, professional and empathetic way.
- Representing the legal team in cross-departmental initiatives and managing escalated matters when required.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Qualified professional (Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive, England & Wales) with at least a year of experience in probate or wider private-client work.
- Someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and is motivated by the evolving landscape of legal service delivery.
- An assured communicator who can guide clients through delicate situations with patience, clarity and understanding.
- Demonstrated background in overseeing probate and estate-administration matters from start to finish.
