Hays Civil Engineering are delighted to be working with a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering major water infrastructure projects across the UK.

Due to continued growth and a significant programme of capital investment, we are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of a major clean water treatment scheme.

Relevant experience in water treatment, wastewater, process engineering, pumping systems, pipework, MEICA installations or industrial process environments would be highly advantageous.

The Role

As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will play a key role in managing and coordinating mechanical installations from design through to commissioning.

Working closely with site teams, subcontractors, designers and stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate mechanical installation activities on site.
  • Review and support design development, buildability and value engineering opportunities.
  • Liaise with designers, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure technical compliance.
  • Oversee procurement of mechanical equipment and materials.
  • Monitor project progress, programme, costs and risks.
