A prominent and growing business within the professional services industry, that derives its income from membership fees. The first in-house legal position within the business, the Senior Legal Counsel will report to the COO. In a broad commercial generalist role, the successful candidate will lead in complex commercial contract negotiations (including supplier, technology, procurement and customer contracts), while working to optimise internal legal policies. You will work closely with various internal stakeholder teams including, HR, finance, marketing and risk, as a central focal point for all things legal. You will be an England & Wales qualified commercial lawyer, who is undaunted by the prospect of being the stand-alone in-house lawyer. With at least five years' PQE (as a guide), you will be comfortable negotiating broad commercial contracts, advising on legal and commercial risk and managing external counsel. The organisation is open to lawyers from private practice and in-house. You'll join the business at a crucial strategic point, working closely with senior stakeholders and taking on high-quality work.
