Your new company Hays Education is working in partnership with a high-performing and values-driven secondary academy in North London to recruit a skilled and committed Qualified or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced TA or HLTA to take on a key support role within a secondary setting that places a strong emphasis on inclusion, high expectations and positive relationships.
Your new role As a Qualified or Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide targeted support to students, including 1:1 and small-group work
- Deliver pre-planned learning activities and interventions under teacher direction
- Support students with additional needs, including SEND and behavioural support
- Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting engagement in learning
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to raise attainment and progress
- Contribute to assessment, monitoring and reporting of student progress where appropriate
What you'll need to succeed We are keen to hear from candidates who:
- Hold a Level 3 TA qualification, HLTA status, or equivalent relevant qualification
- Have experience working in a secondary school environment
- Demonstrate confidence supporting learning across a range of subjects and abilities
- Are calm, resilient and able to build positive relationships with young people
- Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
- Hold, or are willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS
