Due to expansion within their SME/Mid-Commercial team, a position for a Property & Casualty Development Underwriter has arisen.
In your role as a Property & Casualty Development Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting profitable new business and renewals whilst contributing to the development and growth of the portfolio. Working closely with brokers and the wider team to build strong relationships and drive business development. The role will involve delivering exceptional service to brokers alongside developing and maintaining strong broker relationships to maximise new business and retention opportunities. Other duties will include underwriting and managing a portfolio of business in line with underwriting guidelines.
Some of your key responsibilities will be:
- Assessing and evaluating risks to ensure profitability
- Meeting personal KPIs and contributing to team goals
- Identifying scheme opportunities
- Identifying cross-sell opportunities
To succeed in this role, you must have proven Underwriting experience handling Property and Casualty risks in a development and/or trading capacity. You should possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders. You will possess excellent analytical, decision-making and negotiation skills along with a Commercial mindset and the drive to deliver results.
