Your new company is a highly respected Lloyd's market insurance business based in the City of London seeking an experienced Head of Compliance to lead and develop its compliance function. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and well-established insurer at a senior leadership level, playing a pivotal role in shaping the compliance strategy and ensuring the organisation remains fully aligned with evolving regulatory expectations.

Your new role involves holding responsibility for leading the compliance framework across the business, acting as a key adviser to the executive team and Board on regulatory matters. The successful candidate will be approved to hold SMF16 (Compliance Oversight) and SMF17 (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) responsibilities and will ensure the organisation maintains strong relationships with both the FCA and PRA.

You will oversee the design, implementation and ongoing enhancement of the compliance monitoring programme, ensuring robust systems and controls are in place to identify, assess and mitigate regulatory risks. Working closely with senior stakeholders across underwriting, operations, risk and finance, you will provide expert guidance on regulatory developments and their impact on the business.

The role will also involve managing regulatory reporting requirements, leading compliance reviews and investigations where required, overseeing financial crime and AML frameworks, and promoting a strong culture of compliance throughout the organisation. You will regularly engage with Lloyd's market requirements and ensure the business continues to operate in line with regulatory obligations and best practice standards.

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced compliance leader with a strong track record within the London Market or Lloyd's insurance sector. You will possess in-depth knowledge of FCA and PRA regulations, as well as experience operating within the Senior Managers & Certification Regime, including previous experience holding or being approved for SMF16 and/or SMF17 responsibilities.

You will have demonstrable experience developing and managing compliance monitoring frameworks, advising senior stakeholders on regulatory matters and implementing effective governance and control environments. A strong understanding of financial crime, anti-money laundering requirements, conduct risk and regulatory change management is essential.

The successful individual will possess excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at Board and Executive Committee level. Experience working within a Lloyd's syndicate, managing agent or Lloyd's market insurer will be highly advantageous.
