Join the Hasmonean Multi-Academy Trust, a high-performing and values-driven educational organisation committed to excellence and inclusion. We are seeking two ambitious Deputy SENDCos to join our boys' schools, one based in Hendon (Upper School) and one in Belsize Park (Middle School).
Your new role
As Deputy SENDCo, you will work closely with the SENDCo to drive high-quality SEND provision and ensure all students can thrive.
The Successful Candidate will:
- Support the SENDCo in all aspects of supporting an Inclusive educational experience for students by:
- Deputising as appropriate in all areas of the leadership and management of SEND responsibility, demonstrating a clear understanding of SEND legislation and guidance
- Taking ownership of the day-to-day operational aspects of the SEND provision at one of the school sites (Hendon or Belsize Park)
- Acting as an expert in inclusive and adaptive teaching, supporting all staff in their delivery of Quality First Teaching
- To undertake training relevant to the role and with the aim of qualifying as a SENDCo in due course
Training: Training will be given to aid their understanding of the specific SEND students they will be supporting.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will bring a strong combination of teaching expertise, SEND experience and leadership potential. You will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong track record of effective teaching
- Substantial and recent experience working with SEND students
- A secure understanding of SEND legislation, provision and inclusive teaching strategies
- The ability to analyse data and monitor student progress to inform interventions
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- A commitment to championing inclusion and improving outcomes for all learners
Desirable:
- NASENCO qualification or willingness to work towards it
- Experience of leading initiatives or contributing to whole-school improvement
