Your new company

Hays are one of the largest education agencies in the Merseyside region. We work exclusively with over 65% of schools in the area. Currently, we are working in partnership with a school in the Maghull area who are recruiting for a Year 3 Teaching Assistant from September 2026.

Your new role

This Teaching Assistant job will involve working on a 1:1 basis with a Year 3 student with additional needs.

Duties for this job will include:

  • Following the EHCP recommendations for the student to ensure their individual needs are met
  • Providing targeted support both in and outside the classroom
  • Working closely with the class teacher to ensure the lessons are accessible for the student in your care; preparing resources and teaching materials
  • Working closely with the classroom teacher to report on pupil progress
  • Providing regular feedback to the family to ensure home and school are working together in their support for the student

What you'll need to succeed

  • A minimum of six months experience working with children with additional needs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of KS2 Curriculum
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour is essential for this role.
