Your new company: As Project Controls Manager, you will provide strategic and functional leadership across all Project Controls activities for one or more civils sub-programmes within the Sizewell C project. Operating as part of the Civils Works PMO, you will ensure that cost, schedule, risk, change and performance reporting are fully integrated, assured and aligned with project governance.
You will lead a multi-disciplinary Project Controls team within a matrix organisation and act as a key senior interface across the client, alliance partners and supply chain, enabling informed decision-making through high-quality performance insights. Due to the nature of this role you will need to be able to acquire security clearance - SC Clearance.
Your new role:
- Providing functional leadership across project controls disciplines including schedule, cost, risk, change and performance reporting
- Leading and developing a multi-disciplinary Project Controls team within a matrix and alliance delivery model
- Deputising for the Head of Civils Works PMO at key forums when required
- Implementing best-in-class integrated project controls including planning, cost management, earned value, risk and change control
- Ensuring compliance with Sizewell C governance, reporting cycles and assurance requirements
- Owning accurate and timely month-end performance reporting
- Assuring supply chain project controls data and challenging performance where required
- Supporting annual budget cycles, Estimate at Completion updates, schedule deep dives and performance reviews
- Driving continuous improvement, innovation and digital-first reporting solutions, including Power BI-led insights
- Coaching and mentoring senior Project Controls professionals
- Representing the programme externally through industry forums and knowledge-sharing activities
What you'll need to succeed:
- Extensive experience providing Project Controls leadership on major infrastructure programmes
- Proven track record operating at senior manager or director level on large, complex projects
- Strong experience across cost control, planning and scheduling, risk and change management
- Advanced understanding of earned value management
- Experience leading teams in matrix and alliance delivery environments
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage at executive level
- Resilient, delivery-focused approach with excellent problem-solving capability
- Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills
- Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, construction, project management, finance or a related discipline
Desirable experience:
- Professional membership or certification with AACE, PMI, APM or similar
- Strong capability in project controls systems and data analytics, particularly Power BI
- Knowledge of NEC and FIDIC forms of contract
- Experience working within the nuclear sector
