We are working with a school in Leicester who are seeking a Level 3 TA to join their school. Your new role
As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to support learning and behaviour for pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups. You will play a key role in helping students to access education, regulate their behaviour and build positive attitudes to learning.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students with high behavioural and emotional needs in the classroom and around the school
- Building positive, consistent relationships with pupils who may be disengaged or dysregulated
- Supporting teachers with learning activities, behaviour management and transitions
- Helping pupils to develop self-regulation, resilience and routines
- Promoting a calm, safe and structured learning environment
- Supporting reintegration, attendance and engagement where appropriate
- Contributing to a team approach to behaviour, safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
This role requires calmness, consistency and confidence, particularly during challenging moments.
What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Has experience working with secondary-aged pupils, particularly KS3 and KS4
- Is confident supporting pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviour
- Can remain calm, patient and firm in difficult situations
- Understands the importance of boundaries, routines and relationships
- Works well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Believes in young people, even when progress is slow or behaviour is challenging
- Experience in specialist, SEN, inclusion, behaviour or pastoral roles is desirable, but the right attitude, resilience and values are essential.
