We are working with a school in Leicester who are seeking a Level 3 TA to join their school. This school provides education to students in Key Stages 3 and 4 who require a more personalised and flexible approach to education. Many of their students have experienced disrupted education and present with high behavioural, social and emotional needs. Staff work as a close-knit team and are well supported by experienced leaders who value reflective practice, training and staff wellbeing.
Your new role
As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to support learning and behaviour for pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups. You will play a key role in helping students to access education, regulate their behaviour and build positive attitudes to learning.
- Supporting students with high behavioural and emotional needs in the classroom and around the school
- Building positive, consistent relationships with pupils who may be disengaged or dysregulated
- Helping pupils to develop self-regulation, resilience and routines
- Contributing to a team approach to behaviour, safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Requirements:
- Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Has experience working with secondary-aged pupils, particularly KS3 and KS4
- Is confident supporting pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviour
- Believes in young people, even when progress is slow or behaviour is challenging
- Experience in specialist, SEN, inclusion, behaviour or pastoral roles is desirable, but the right attitude, resilience and values are essential.
