We are working with a school in Leicester who are seeking a Level 2 TA to join their school. This school provides education to students in Key Stages 3 and 4 who require a more personalised and flexible approach to education. Your new role

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to support learning and behaviour for pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups. You will play a key role in helping students to access education, regulate their behaviour and build positive attitudes to learning.

  • Supporting students with high behavioural and emotional needs in the classroom and around the school
  • Building positive, consistent relationships with pupils who may be disengaged or dysregulated
  • Supporting teachers with learning activities, behaviour management and transitions
  • Helping pupils to develop self-regulation, resilience and routines
  • Supporting reintegration, attendance and engagement where appropriate
  • Contributing to a team approach to behaviour, safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

Requirements:

  • Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Has experience working with secondary-aged pupils, particularly KS3 and KS4
  • Is confident supporting pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviour
  • Believes in young people, even when progress is slow or behaviour is challenging
  • Experience in specialist, SEN, inclusion, behaviour or pastoral roles is desirable, but the right attitude, resilience and values are essential.
