Are you an experienced Asset Surveyor looking for a role where your expertise genuinely influences strategic decision-making? We're seeking a Senior Asset Surveyor to lead the delivery of a large-scale asset survey programme across a diverse and complex property portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on surveying with team leadership, playing a vital role in improving asset data, compliance, life cycle planning and future investment decisions.

The Opportunity

As Senior Asset Surveyor, you'll take the lead in collecting, validating and improving critical asset information across operational MOD sites throughout England. This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. This is far more than a data collection role. You'll be trusted to:

  • Deliver asset surveys across a varied estate, identifying, validating and tagging assets
  • Undertake complex surveys requiring technical judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Lead and support a team of surveyors, providing guidance, coaching and quality assurance
  • Monitor programme delivery, reporting progress, risks and challenges
  • Improve the accuracy and reliability of asset records and databases
  • Challenge incomplete, inaccurate or duplicated asset information
  • Collaborate with operational teams, technical specialists and key stakeholders
  • Support the development of improved survey standards, templates and quality processes
  • Ensure all work is undertaken safely within live operational environments

Your work will directly contribute to smarter maintenance planning, improved compliance, enhanced life cycle management and better investment decisions.

About You

We're looking for an experienced survey professional who combines technical expertise with strong leadership skills. You'll ideally have:

  • Significant experience surveying, identifying and validating assets across complex estates
  • Experience leading or supervising survey teams
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for data accuracy
  • Knowledge of asset management principles, asset hierarchies and data assurance
  • Experience working within Defence, Government, Healthcare, Utilities, Infrastructure or other regulated environments
  • A qualification in Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, Asset Management or a related discipline (HNC, HND or Degree desirable)
  • Experience using CAFM, CMMS, mobile surveying applications or asset data systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work independently across multiple sites
