This highly reputable and collegiate international practice is seeking a senior in-house lawyer to focus on compliance and regulatory matters as part of the in-house team. You will currently be either a commercial contracts lawyer or commercial litigator currently at an international or national practice seeking a move in-house or already in a general legal compliance role with a law firm or in-house. Reporting directly to the GC of EMEA, you will be a trusted advisor, providing expert legal insight and solutions on a range of compliance, regulatory and professional conduct issues. This role requires a proactive lawyer who can effectively develop high-level projects as well as day-to-day issues from senior stakeholders, including senior management and partners at the firm.
Responsibilities
- Advising on legal, regulatory & ethical standards
- Leading global risk management projects
- Developing & rolling out global risk management policies & providing training
- Advising on claims, complaints & circumstances
- Investigating potential conduct issues
- Designing & implementing compliance systems & procedures
- Supervising junior lawyers within the team
This is a fabulous opportunity for a senior lawyer (minimum 7 years PQE) to join a highly regarded in-house legal team. Ideal lawyers will have a strong commercial or commercial litigation background. You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build a strong rapport with key senior stakeholders throughout the organisation, the ability to think commercially and logically. Applicants must be based in the North and be able to work out of Leeds on a hybrid basis.
