A well-established and growing construction and engineering business is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its senior leadership team. Operating across a diverse portfolio of projects, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions and is entering an exciting period of growth and operational development. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will take ownership of the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and effective business partnering across the organisation. Leading and developing the finance team Delivering accurate monthly management accounts and board reporting Managing budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning Overseeing project accounting and contract reporting Driving improvements to financial controls, processes and systems Supporting commercial decision-making through meaningful financial analysis Managing year-end audit and statutory reporting requirements Working closely with operational and project teams to maximise profitability and performance Monitoring working capital and supporting strategic business initiatives Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) Previous experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role Experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure or project-based environments Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise Excellent commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills Competitive benefits package, hybrid working A role offering genuine scope to shape processes, influence performance and support future growth Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
