We are looking for a dedicated Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Sefton, starting as soon as possible. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping young learners thrive in the early stages of their education.

Role Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils across KS1 with early literacy, numeracy and classroom learning.
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group intervention to help children reach their targets.
  • Assisting the class teacher with classroom routines, behaviour management and lesson preparation.
  • Helping maintain a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Experience Needed

  • Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.
  • Confidence supporting early learning in KS1 (phonics, reading, early maths).
  • SEN experience is desirable for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Strong communication skills and a patient, nurturing approach.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., CACHE/NCFE).
  • GCSE English & Maths (or equivalent).
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).
