This school is seeking a reliable, proactive, and hands-on School Caretaker to join their friendly team in Kent. This is a key role in ensuring the school remains a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Site maintenance: Carry out minor repairs, painting, and general upkeep of buildings and grounds
- Security: Open and lock the school premises, monitor CCTV, and ensure site safety
- Health & safety: Conduct regular checks and support compliance with safety regulations
- Cleaning & waste management: Support cleaning teams and manage waste disposal
- Event setup: Assist with furniture arrangements and logistics for school events
- Contractor liaison: Supervise external contractors and report issues to the Site Manager or Headteacher
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a caretaker or facilities role (school experience preferred)
- Basic DIY and maintenance skills
- Good communication and organisational abilities
- A positive attitude and commitment to safeguarding
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
